6 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, & Ngorongoro Crater safari is an excellent wildlife tour that will start and end in Arusha. The safari will take you to the three best-protected areas in Tanzania that is Tarangire national park, Serengeti national park, and Ngorongoro conservation area where you have great views of wildlife species including the big five mammals, other animals, views of bird species, different plant species like baobab, acacia and also be able to witness the great wildebeest migration.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Tarangire national park, after breakfast on day 1 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater our representative will pick you up from the hotel, brief you about the safari and then transfer to Tarangire national park. The journey takes about 3 hours drive with great views of the beautiful landscapes, country sides among others and upon arrival you will go for an interesting game drive where you will enjoy views of the beautiful baobab trees, animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, elands, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas if you are luck, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will have a picnic lunch where after you will proceed with the game drive to Tarangire River where you will view large concentrations of animals drinking water from the river, view water birds, beautiful scenery among others. After the game drives you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti national park

After breakfast on day 2 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver-guide to transfer to Serengeti national park. On the way you will drive past the Great Rift Valley escarpments, visit the Maasai villages if you are interested. Upon arrival in Serengeti national park you will check into the lodge and have lunch where after you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park. During the game drive you will be able to view animals like elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, elands, zebras, waterbucks, giraffes among other. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Serengeti national park

Full day game drive,after an early breakfast on day 3 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater you will carry your lunch box and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a full day game drive in the endless savannah plains of Serengeti national park.  During the game drive you will have a chance to see animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, gazelle, warthogs, lesser kudu, wildebeest, hartebeest, elands, impalas, topi, impalas which will be grazing in the open savannah plains with due, primates like monkeys, baboons,  view predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas, wild dogs  if you are lucky, bird species like grey breasted spurfowl, kori bustard, ashy starling secretary birds, yellow necked francolin, rufous tailed weaver, Fischer’s lovebird, grey crested helmet shrike among others. After the morning game drive you will enjoy your picnic lunch or drive back to the lodge for lunch.  After lunch you will proceed with the game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed in the morning. You will drive to the water bodies where you will be able to views of large concentrations of animals drinking water, witness the great wildebeest migration if you are lucky where about one million wildebeest and thousands of gazelle, zebras and elands cross the Grumeti river to the Masai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass. After the full day game drive in the park you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive in Serengeti national park and transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 4 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, you will carry your lunch box, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning  game drive in Serengeti national park. During the game drive you will drive to Seronera valley where you will be able to view abundant animals including large herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, gazelle, warthogs, wildebeest, hartebeest, topi, elands, impalas grazing in the open savannah plains with due, view predators like lions, leopards, spotted hyenas looking for a morning hunt, primates like monkeys, baboons, different bird species among others.

After the game drive you will have your picnic lunch where after you will drive out of the park and to transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way you will have great views of animals and a stopover at Olduvai Gorge an archaeological site where Dr Louis and Mary Leakey discovered fossils of the early human beings. The site also has a small museum where you will be able to learn about the history and importance of the site, learn about fossils of animals and plants, interact with some residents and buy souvenirs from the craft shop. From Olduvai Gorge you will proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area and upon arrival check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro crater

Full day game drive, after an early breakfast on day 5 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater you will carry your picnic lunch and meet up with your driver guide to go for a full day game drive in the conservation area. During the game drive you will descend down into the Ngorongoro crater through the lush and highland forests at the crater wall and when you reach the grassy crater floor you will have beautiful views of the sunrise, landscape, scenery, view animals including the big five mammals (elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, black rhinos and other animals grazing in the acacia woodland and grassland plains. You will also be able to see colorful bird species and different plant and tree species. After the morning game drive you will have your picnic lunch at the crater floor and later proceed with the game drive to Lake Magadi which is a shallow alkaline crater lake that is located in the eastern part of the Ngorongoro crater. Lake Magadi offers incredible views of hippos and water bird species like flamingos, cormorants, kingfishers, fish eagles and many others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Departure to Arusha

After a relaxed breakfast on day 6 of the 6 days Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha. You will have great views on the way and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure flight or drop off at the hotel in Arusha depending on your schedule.
