Day 1: Domestic flight to the Masai Mara – game drive.
Depending on your location in Nairobi, you will be met by our company representative and drive to Wilson airport taking about 45 minutes’ drive south of Nairobi city of Langata road on a junction to Mombasa road. Air Kenya operates daily scheduled flights from Wilson airport to Masaia Mara at 8:00 am. Check-in your flight an hour before departure. It is an hour flight landing in Olkiombo airstrip closer to your booked accommodation. On arrival at the airstrip, meet your safari guide waiting to transfer you to your lodge for check-in, have your lunch. Later afternoon, drive to the Masai plains for a game drive. The Masai Mara has excellent year-round animal concentration and is known for its short-grass savannah plains, making wildlife spotting all the better. The time taken on your game drive will depend on the availability of animals. Later evening return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at

Day 2 & 3: Full day game drives in the Masai Mara
Sunrise is a great time for wildlife spotting as animals tend to be the most active during the “golden hours”, when the first rays of sunshine come to rest on the savannah. Few predators hunt during the heat of the day, so the early morning is the best time to observe the thrill of the chase, or at least the aftermath of a hunt. These 2 days will be mainly for game drives as you will explore the park to the fullest with packed lunches. Wildebeest migration Masai Mara takes place between the months of June and October when the Mara plains are flooded with over a million wildebeests, thousands of Zebras and Impala searching for fresh new grass after the rains. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Leisure camp as above.
Optional activity either on day 2 or day 3 is Hot air balloon. A hot air balloon safari launches in the early morning, just in time for sunrise. For about one hour you will be floating peacefully above the ground, with a bird’s eye view of the African bush below. The capacity for this activity is limited making this a very special and exclusive experience. Please note that this activity is weather dependent and may need to be rescheduled due to poor weather.
Day 4: Domestic flight to Nairobi
After breakfast, your safari guide will then drive back to Olkiombo airstrip for your return flight back to Nairobi with check-in flight an hour before departure. Air Kenya’s daily scheduled flights depart Masai Mara at 14:45 and arrive in Nairobi at 16:20.
