6 Days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi Gorilla Safari

6 Days serengeti national park and bwindi gorilla safari is one of the magical wildlife and primates experiences in East Africa. Both these parks are the most visited and appreciated national parks in East Africa. Serengeti national park is located in Tanzania best known for its wildlife migration on Mara River which separates Serengeti national park from Masai Mara national reserve located in Kenya. Serengeti national park is the best national park in East Africa with a variety of animals including the Big five; Elephants, Cape Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions and the Rhinos. Other animals include; the wildebeests, Zebras, Thompson gazelles, giraffes, Elands. The sceneries of Ngorongoro crater is an added adventure.  Bwindi national park on the other hand is the only park where we find the endangered mountain gorillas in the whole world alongside Volcanoes national park and Virunga national park in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo respectively. Sights of Kigezi highlands add a remarkable experience of an African safari.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti national park

Early in the morning after your breakfast at the hotel in Arusha, you will start you drive to Serengeti passing through Ngorongoro conservation area with en-route game drive for any available animals and a stop for an aerial view of the magnificent crater as we watch the beauty of Africa with great scenery, abundant wildlife and diverse cultures en-route as we pass through villages between the parks reaching to the park late in the afternoon check in our hotel for late lunch. It’s a 7 to 8 hours from Arusha. Late evening connect to check-in your lodge. Dinner will be served and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Serengeti national park

Wake up early for the most rewarding game drives in the wilderness, see the nocturnal animals returning from hunting, the big cats walking dawn to look for the prey of the day and many more animals like Hyenas, Zebras, Impala, African wild dogs, Serval cats mention but a few then drive back to our lodge for midmorning breakfast. Have a rest as we memorize our experience in the morning have laughter as we wait for our lunch.

In the afternoon go for another game drive in search for what we missed mostly in the morning. In this time most big birds are active like Ostriches, secretary bird, Kori Bustard, Martial Eagle and many more. Still we will b seeing a wide range of animals at the game drive retire for dinner and overnight at either lodge as above

Day 3: Transfer to Arusha and fly to Uganda

After our morning cup of tea, depart the park and drive back to Arusha with en-route game drive. You will reach Arusha in time for your check-in flight to Uganda.  Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our company representative and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi home of Uganda Gorillas

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda with approximately 540km from Kampala by road. You will have a stopover at the equator for photography and the experiment and another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 5: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Bwindi

Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day.

On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the hotel as you savoir the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Dinner and overnight at either lodge as above

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe/Departure

You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Entebbe. It’s a 8-9 hours’ drive from Bwindi to Entebbe with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Entebbe arriving late afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you will either be dropped at your hotel in Entebbe or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home. End of Safari
