Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable national park at 12:00 pm

Depending on your location in Entebbe, transfer to Entebbe airport for an afternoon flight to Bwindi forest that sets off at 12:00 pm. Aero-link Uganda operates flights to Bwindi twice a day in Kihihi airstrip and the 12 pm flight is most suitable. It’s a 2 hours flight landing on Kihihi airstrip. On arrival, meet your driver-guide waiting to pick you up and transfer to Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable national park taking another 2 hours’ drive from the airstrip. Proceed to check-in your lodge nearby Bwindi forest national park. Dinner and overnight stay at Ruhija Gorilla Safari lodge as a luxury accommodation/Bakiga lodge as amid-range accommodation

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi

Wake up very early, enjoy your breakfast and drive out of the lodge to connect to the sector park headquarters with your trekking gears and packed lunch and water. Meet with other trekkers and gather for a briefing from the park officials where you will be guided on the expectations of gorilla experiences. Thereafter, only a group of 8 people and ranger guides/researchers will set off for gorilla trekking experience to find the habituated gorilla family. These gorillas are usually difficult to find because they keep running away however on finding them, you will maximise your stay of 1 hour in their presence while pictures. After trekking, you will receiving your certificate then return back to your lodge, pack your laggage and check out of the lodge and transfer to Kisoro town. Day 3: Golden Monkeys – Mgahinga national park

After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga national park offices which is about 30 minutes’ drive from Kisoro town. On arrival at the park offices, you will be briefed about the golden monkeys and thereafter enter into the park taking the golden monkey tracking trail and on this experience, other primates, birds, butterflies will be spotted. After trekking, return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Fly to Entebbe and departure.

After your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Kisoro airstrip for your 8:25 am flight back to Entebbe airport. Kisoro airstrip only has one flight schedule to Entebbe airport given the weather conditions. After the 2 hours connecting flight, the hotel driver will pick you up from Entebbe airport to drive you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Entebbe Protea Hotel for luxury accommodation/2 Friends Guesthouse for mid-range accommodation

Day 5: Fly to Tanzania – Transfer to Lake Manyara national park – Evening game drive

Wake you quite early, have breakfast then proceed to the airport to check-in for your 7:00 am flight to Tanzania, arriving either in Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport (This flight will be booked by yourself). Your Tanzanian safari guide will be waiting to pick you up. Have your lunch served in Arusha before you set off to Lake Manyara national park. It is a 3-4 hours’ drive. Day 6: Game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation area

After early morning breakfast, connect for an early morning game drive for more chances find any of the missed animals especially the tree climbing lions that can only be found in this park. Proceed after the game drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area. It’s a 3-4 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Day 7: Full day at the Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, depart with picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive. Animals in the Ngorongoro crater include pride of lions, clans of hyenas, packs of jackals, crashes of hippos, dazzles of zebras, herds’ wildebeests, bulls of elephants often with incredibly long tusks because of the highly nutritious grass rich in minerals, and many more animals. Day 8:  Transfer to Serengeti National Park – Game drive

Wake up early in the morning for a cup of coffee/tea and snacks then embark on your drive to Serengeti national park. It’s a 2-3 hours’ drive to reach your lodge. Check-in your lodge for lunch and later afternoon connect for afternoon and evening game drive. Serengeti is the park with the largest concentration of big mammals in the world and it is where you will see most of your exciting wildlife. The sightings in the central Serengeti will include pride of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, impalas, dik-dik, monkeys, baboons, gazelles, warthogs and many more. In the evening again you will seat with your guide at the fireplace and get some information about Tanzania from the pre-colonial time to independence until now. Day 9: Hot air balloon – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, connect for the air balloon. You will be driven to the starting point of balloon safari and be briefed by the guide then take off with the balloon to have an aerial view of the park and enjoy watching different wildlife species. It’s only in the Serengeti Balloon Safari you can enjoy a close view of these predators when they have cached their hunt and enjoying their meal while graving and struggling to pick the best. Other animals observed are Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Impala, Topi, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, waterbuck, wild dogs, Jackals, Warthogs, Hippos, Nile crocodiles, Gazelle among others.
